Individual Therapy
For parents, caregivers, and children ages 4 and up, on their own.
Sometimes the work starts with just one person. Individual therapy at Carinho Center is for parents and caregivers carrying their own stress, grief, trauma, or hard season, and for children ages 4 and up who are navigating big feelings, transitions, or experiences of their own.
For parents and caregivers, sessions combine somatic, trauma-informed, and relationship-based care, helping you reconnect with your own body and history so you can show up more grounded, present, and compassionate with yourself and your family.
For children 4 and up, sessions meet them where they are developmentally, often through play and body-based approaches, since young children process and communicate what they can't yet put into words through play, not just through talk.

Individual therapy is available for children ages 4 and up. For children under 4, or when the focus is on the parent-child bond, parent-child therapy is typically the better fit.

Most clients start with weekly sessions. Bi-weekly and monthly sessions are also an option. Length and frequency of care depends entirely on what you're working through and what’s possible for your and your family, logistically. A free consultation is a good place to talk through what might fit your needs.
